Ok, so as you can tell from the date of the last post, I am not good at keeping these things up. BUT I am going to try to do better so that you can keep up with Eliza's adventures--provided WE can keep up with Eliza!
Eliza is now 16 months old and is into EVERYTHING! If it's within eyesight, she's after it. Her latest thing is trying to climb up onto the sofa. She's really close to being able to do it on her own, and can get up into the recliner with no help. Oh, and she likes to sit on the coffee table. We're trying to decide whether to let that go on or keep her off. I know, the longer we wait, the harder it will be to break her of it, but honestly, I am sometimes too tired to be an enforcer of consistency!
She is also quite the jabber box. She can say LOTS of words--in her own way. "Feeesh" is fish, "Cheeeze" is cheese, "nana" is banana, "booowwlll" is bowl (on the Wii with Daddy's help) and lots more. I'd say her favorite word is "Keety" for kitty, who she chases all through the house just to look at her and laugh. She never goes after the cat to cause harm or pet her, but rather just wants to look at her and laugh.
And her little personality is just a hoot! Of course, we see things of our personalities coming through too. Just today, I was putting away the groceries and upon my second trip to the fridge, there was Eliza standing in the door, holding the cap to the chocolate syrup, and using her fingers to sneak some chocolate off the lid. That is TOTALLY someting I would have done! Her second funny in the last few weeks occurred at the kid's room at the gym. Some girls were fighting over a tub of legos when they spilled it. Eliza walked up to them (they were much older), put her hand on her hip, started shaking her head and her finger and saying, "No! No! No!" I guess she is the kid's room police officer!!
Like I said, I will try to keep you all updated on Eliza's latest antics. They come fast and furious nowadays so check back often for the latest and I'll do my best to post them!
