Eliza is 6 months old. It is so hard for us to believe it! David and I were kind of in a state of disbelief on Tuesday just wondering how those 6 months have passed by so quickly! It's pretty amazing what she can do now compared to when we brought her home. She smiles, laughs, eats baby food, plays with her toys, watches the world around her, and just makes us so happy! It's amazing!
Eliza has been trying new foods. She eats baby food for lunch and dinner and has successfully eaten applesauce, pears, bananas, and papaya. She isn't too keen on squash and isn't sure about green beans yet. Tonight we tried the green beans and she didn't fake-gag like she did with squash yesterday. That fake gagging thing was like what my sister and I used to do when my mom made us eat something we didn't like--except we punctuated it with falling out of the dining room chair and choking to death in Hollywood fashion. So no doubt she has a flair for the dramatic and it's coming out at 6 months! Oh, are we in for it or what!?
She has a new toy that she loves--a Rainforest Jumparoo! Instead of the doorway Johnny Jump-Ups that frighten me, we got her a stationary jumping contraption and she LOVES it! David bought it and put it together when I was away from home and evidently once she realized its purpose, she was a jumpin' fool! It's a riot to watch and maybe someday I'll upload the video for it.
Eliza (and I) loved the warm weather that we HAD been having (it's back down to the high 30s for daytime temps). She enjoyed not wearing a coat to go out and about and also enjoyed the stroller rides we had been taking around the neighborhood in an effort to get me back into shape. She pitched a fit when I had to put her coat back on her and put her in the car seat to go to church services. Oh, the anger was displayed! So we're hoping that the warm weather will return.
She has her Easter ensamble ready for Sunday and we'll post photos shortly thereafter. No teeth yet (thankfully), but I bet they're almost here. Ugh! Overall, things are going well here! Come back spring!
