Eliza's Blizzard

Eliza now has a blizzard to call her own! Last week's blizzard dumped 15 inches of snow at our house, then with the additional 4 inches that we got over the weekend, we had about 19 inches of snow on the ground. The reason we say Eliza has her own blizzard is because when David and I were little, we had the blizzard of '78 that impacted our lives. For David, that blizzard occurred on during his first birthday, so he had to hear stories of how the relatives ate his cake (he got another one a week later). For me, I was close to Eliza's age when that blizzard hit and my mom was stuck at home with me and my sister for three days while my dad was stuck at work at the airport.
We took Eliza out in the snow and she wasn't overly thrilled with it. As the snowflakes hit her face and got stuck in her long eyelashes, she kept slirping at the snow trying to figure out what she's supposed to do with it. We didn't keep her out too long--just long enough to get some photos and get her reaction. Be sure to check out those photos in the
Fourth Month album.
She still isn't sleeping through the night and we're anxious for that to start soon. She's started touching her toes and will roll to her side, but not all the way over. And from the photos, you can see that she's started eating rice cereal for dinner, and boy, does she love that! Sometimes we can't get the spoon to her mouth fast enough! She was supposed to have her 4-month checkup on February 13th, but the blizzard caused us to have to reschedule. So her 4-month checkup will be more like a 5-month checkup! But she is quite the chatterbox and loves to laugh. One night, she started giggling and I kept laughing because it was so cute, which then caused her to laugh even more! It was so wonderful to hear! I hope that she'll always keep that sense of humor throughout her life as she'll need it--especially with parents like us!
